Popularly known as “THE GHETTO PRESIDENT” Bobi Wine has climbed the fame ladder to become one of Uganda’s most popular reggae artist, his popularity cuts across all the classes in society but especially among the lesser privileged in the slums of Kampala. Through his music and characters he has portrayed in several movies, Bobi has identified himself with the common man and advocated for their plight. Tugambe ku Jennifer is his most recent hit in which he begs the city authorities to treat the petty street vendors with a little respect and avoid brutally in handling them. It is one of his many songs containing lyrics voicing concerns about life on the lower side of society. He is also running several projects to help fight poverty among the youth through creating employment and making them self-reliant. According to Bobi, Ugandan society seems to have lost its fluidity, mutual understanding and ability to reciprocate for the common good. He has tried to share his views; which seems not to land on a listening ear. Without giving up he sticks to Audio Visual Communication; which wins public attention.
