Pope Elevates Ugandan Priests To Monisignors, Appoints Knights And Dames

POPE Benedict the XVI, elevated five priests to the position of Monsignor including a-96-year old priest, Rev Fr Joseph Kyeyune in recognition of their outstanding service to the Catholic Church.

The Pope also appointed four lay men to be papal knights and two women to the position of dames, lay women knights, also in recognition of their outstanding service in the Church. They include retired Lady Chief Justice Letitia Mukasa-Kikonyogo and Margaret Ntege from Bunnamwaya Parish, Kampala. The Archbishop of Kampala, His Grace Cyprian Kizito-Langwa, announced the appointments at the Kampala Archdiocesan Priests Association (KAPA) held at Pope Paul the VI Memorial Hotel, Ndeeba in the suburbs of Kampala.
